Design Story

The composition is built like a label, not a sticker. A banner reading DUKE UNIVERSITY sits at the top of the focal panel, framing a cameo medallion with the blue devil profile in flat, graphic linework. Beneath it, DUKE BLUE DEVILS and EST. 1838 close the hierarchy. Scrollwork, beaded borders and ornamental filigree run through the surrounding space in tonal gold on blue, so the ornament reads as texture rather than clutter. Two colours do all the work: saturated navy-blue and warm antique gold, with an ivory ground giving the mascot room to breathe.

Use & Experience

On a tall tumbler silhouette, that vertical stacking matters. The crest lands at eye level as the front-facing anchor, the banded gold detailing breaks the height into clean sections, and the lower panel repeats the framing motif so the wraparound never goes flat.
