Design Story

The interlocking ND monogram dominates the upper field, beveled in gold against deep navy, scaled large enough to anchor the entire composition. Diagonal gold bands cut across the lower half, carrying the words NOTRE DAME and FIGHTING IRISH in staggered weight so the eye descends in steps rather than all at once. To the right, a helmet and a stadium glow sit in soft focus, pushed back so they support the typography instead of competing with it. Chalk-style lettering reading PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION TODAY occupies the upper corner as a handwritten counterpoint to the engineered gold. A vertical column on the left — faith, family, tradition, excellence — is set small and widely spaced, a deliberate act of restraint. Navy absorbs light; gold returns it. That contrast is the whole structure.

Display & Styling

As a spiral-bound wall calendar, the top binding lets the cover artwork read as a framed panel first, before the monthly grid takes over below. The monogram is scaled for distance, legible across a room at eye level, while the smaller type rewards closer reading at a desk or kitchen wall. The dark field keeps the layout calm month after month, so the artwork decorates without crowding the dates.
