A cover built like a commemorative plaque: symmetrical, layered, and entirely still. Nothing moves here, and that stillness is the point.
Design Story
The composition is strictly axial. A scarlet block letter O sits at the exact center, framed by a gold laurel wreath, flanked by two silver helmets turned inward so the viewer's eye is pushed back toward the middle. Above, arched lettering reads OHIO STATE; below, BUCKEYES spans the full width in heavy slab type, the largest motif on the page. Beneath it, a warm evening stadium view drops the energy and opens depth — crowd, lights, horizon — before gold corner ornament closes the frame. Red, black, gold and silver repeat in disciplined bands, so hierarchy reads instantly from across a room: emblem, name, place.
Display & Styling
As a spiral-bound wall calendar, that vertical hierarchy matters. The emblem and lettering carry the upper field at eye level, while the stadium band and ornamental border give the lower half a settled base where a monthly date grid naturally belongs. Hung in an office, kitchen or dorm, the piece reads as framed decor first and as desk-side planning second — a single, year-round visual anchor rather than a changing distraction.
